Every day I hear about Sarah Palin. Most of what I hear is that she's an idiot, but no one can tell me why, other than that she has a funny accent. What I don't hear, is anyone talking about Joe the Biden. I can tell you some very stupid things he has said on the campaign. I begin with his most famous by now, "Roosevelt on television." As you all know, Biden first slipped by telling CBS reporter Katie Couric that after the stock market crashed in 1939, FDR got on television to addresses the crash. Obviously, Herbert Hoover was President and there was no television. Then last week, Biden, at a rally, was speaking about the economy. "John's last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S," said Biden. Does he not know how to count, or is he just that absent minded?
Now I understand these mistakes are for the most part, simple and insignificant, but not something you would expect from a Washington elitist. However, there is one major thing that Biden has said about his Presidential candidate that is a big deal. Last week in Seattle at a fundraiser, Biden stated "Mark my words. Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking," "Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy," predicted Biden. He went on to say that Obama's decision will not apparently be the right decision, but to stick with them. I'm not sure what Biden is trying to say here, but I can't help but wonder if there is some underlying message. Keep in mind, this is coming from Obama's biggest critic from the left prior to his nomination as the VP candidate. Biden even said last year about Obama that he is not ready to be President as the presidency "is not something that lends itself to on the job training." Biden also said he would be honored to run with or against John McCain. Now he comes out and says that Obama, having the perception of being naive and weak, will be tested with an international crisis within his first six months of being elected. Biden mentioned two of five places he thought it could come from, including Russia and the Middle East. This is either another Biden blunder, or even he doesn't have full faith and confidence in Obama to be the most powerful man in the world.
I have another beef to pick with Joe the Bide, and Obama for that matter. Why is it, when a middle class plumber, asks Obama a tough question, since the media won't, and Obama sticks his foot in his mouth with a socialist statement, do they go on the offensive against this middle class plumber? Obama should either defend or retract his statement. He has done neither. Instead, both Obama and Biden, and the liberal media, have attacked "Joe the plumber." Biden accused him of not even being a plumber. "I don't know any plumbers making $250,000 a year," Biden said on Jay Leno. Obama at a rally, said "A plumber, is the guy he's [McCain] fighting for." It thought Obama was working for middle class America? Yet when Obama is asked a tough question, he attacks this middle class American. Is this how Obama takes care of the middle class. I'd rather just take care of myself.
With Obama's sketchy background, and Biden's continous campaign blunders, the democratic ticket seems ify at best. McCain and Palin have not make scary campaign missteps. They have reliable records. \McCain has been a servant of this great country since he was 17 years old. Palin has taken a lot of heat from the liberal media, but with no hard evidence against her. At the same time, the Obama/Biden blunders are merely overlooked, while attacks are launched against a bold plumber. Shameful.
